TUCSON BOTANICAL GARDENS

For a quiet, peaceful day out, pay a visit to the Botanical Gardens. Right in the heart of the
city at 2150 N. Alvernon Way, these gardens are to be found over a five acre spread and
include sixteen specialty gardens such as a butterfly garden, cactus and succulent garden,
an herb garden, a historical garden to name but a few. There are over 4200 separate plants.
As well as viewing the beautiful gardens, visitors may pick up design ideas for their own
homes!

Tours and classes are available, and group rates can be arranged. There are picnic areas and
exhibits are on show in the Porter Hall. There is a gift shop which has a large collection of
books of botanical interest and about the locality, as well as other gifts and souvenirs.

On Wednesdays, between 1000hrs & midday, a Plant Clinic is held where the gardeners are
available to answer any questions visitors might have and to examine ailing plants. (Please
note, there is no Plant Clinic between June and August).

Visitors can also spend some time in the Edmund L Mc Gibbon Reference Library which
houses over 2000 books and periodicals on horticulture, botany and gardening. This facility
is open on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 1330-1630hrs.

Weddings, parties and meetings can be accommodated at the Gardens. There are two
facilities at the property for retreats or functions in this lovely environment.

Opening hours are 0830-1630hrs each day except Christmas, New Years Day,
Thanksgiving and July 4th. For more information, phone 520-326-9686 or email
